Everything you need to know about crypto premiums and how to use this tool.
1. What is a Crypto Premium?
A crypto premium occurs when the price of a cryptocurrency on a local exchange is higher than the global reference price (Binance). In Korea, this is famously called the Kimchi Premium.
When local prices are higher than Binance โ positive premium (green). When local prices are lower โ negative premium / discount (red).
Example: If BTC is $100,000 on Binance and $103,000 on Upbit (Korea), the Kimchi Premium is +3.00%.
2. How to Read the Gap Matrix
The Gap Matrix shows the price premium (%) of each exchange relative to your selected reference country.
- โ Green cell โ local price is higher than reference
- โ Red cell โ local price is lower than reference
- โ โ โ no data available for that pair

5. Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How often does the data update?
The Gap Matrix updates every 60 seconds. Upbit (Korea) data refreshes every 30 seconds.
Q. Does a +3% premium mean 3% arbitrage profit?
No. Exchange fees (0.05โ0.25%), network transfer fees, currency conversion spreads, and price movement during transfer reduce actual profits significantly. Always calculate costs carefully.
Q. Is this data suitable for investment decisions?
This data is for informational purposes only and does not constitute financial advice. Always verify prices directly on exchanges before trading.
Q. Why does some data show "โ"?
Some exchanges do not list all coins. A dash (โ) means that trading pair is not available on that exchange.
Q. What is the "Biggest Gap" panel?
It shows the largest price difference currently observed across all tracked exchanges and coins โ a quick way to spot the most significant arbitrage opportunity at a glance.
